about me
Hi! My name is Caleb Sheedy (he/they) and I am a Queer and Jewish non-binary actor, recently graduated from Syracuse University's Department of Drama. I grew up in New Paltz, NY surrounded by a community that not only loved theatre, but passionately supported the arts. I was exposed to music from a very young age with James Taylor, Dan Zanes, and Crosby, Stills and Nash being big influences early on. I made my theatrical debut at 8 years old playing a rooster (dream role, I know) and from there my passion for theatre bloomed.
I was fortunate enough to perform with many amazing children's theatres growing up which lead me to pursue a BFA in Acting. It was at Syracuse where I then found my love for directing and producing. The summer after my freshman year I was awarded a US-UK Fulbright Summer Institute Award, which fully funded my participation in the Shakespeare's Globe Summer Acting intensive in London.
In addition to theatre, I have been very involved on campus at Syracuse, from being honored as a Syracuse University Remembrance Scholar (learn more here), being elected the Acting Student Rep in the Dept. of Drama, and taking on several positions in the student theatre company, Black Box Players.
