My directing is rooted in the idea of sonder — "the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own." At its core, sonder asks us to step outside ourselves and recognize the same depth in others that we see in our own lives. I'm drawn to stories that illuminate the lives of people often overlooked, uncovering the extraordinary within the ordinary.
Whether working on revivals, adaptations, or new plays, I approach the rehearsal room as a collaborative space where actors, designers, and writers are empowered to take creative risks, bring their full selves, and shape the story together. I aim to create productions that leave audiences feeling seen, challenged, and connected — a theatre that reflects the richness of the world we share while daring to imagine what it could be.
