who am i?

Caleb Sheedy (they/them) is a 23 year old New York-based actor, director and creative originally from New Paltz, NY. Born to perform, Caleb was singing and dancing from a very young age, making their stage debut at 7, and being in their first musical at 8 (as a rooster of course). Growing up in a town that supports the arts, the creative bug came early and the passion has never ceased.

Caleb attended Syracuse University and graduated with their BFA in Acting, with a minor in Directing. After their freshman year, they were awarded a US-UK Fulbright Award to study Acting at Shakespeare's Globe in London, a transformative experience that also sparked the passion to direct and produce. In the following years Caleb would go on to mount several projects, many of which were during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. From this they received experience in creating theatre for the screen, subsequently learning how to direct for a new medium, film, edit and produce mixed media projects, all while learning how to navigate directing for the stage under unique circumstances.

As a multi-hyphenate artist, Caleb plans to pursue the arts and entertainment industry with a wide range of experiences under their belt, and is excited to take on new roles in the near future. They believe in an industry that promotes artists pursuing multiple passions at once across various fields, allowing room for us all to become well rounded individuals, both in our daily lives and in the work we create. Caleb is a staunch advocate for inclusivity and accessibility in the theatre. They are a proud nonbinary, Queer and Jewish artist, whose goal is to expand the perspectives of human experiences we put on stage, and to advocate for under-represented communities to not only have access to an increased exposure to the arts, but a voice in the room.
