Film
"The Retreat"
Syracuse University Tepper Semester
During my time at the Tepper Semester in NYC, one of our final projects for class was to make a short film. After acting in the previous one we made, I wanted to write, direct and edit this time around. My best friend Alessandra Casanova knew we wanted to work together on it and began brainstorming. One of our shared loves is TV show "Broad City", and we had the amazing idea of doing a spoof on the season 3 episode, "Getting There".
We even made the intro in honor of another favorite show "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia". However, come time to film, COVID had begun spreading amongst our class and we couldn't get together to film. So we adapted. Everyone filmed from their own apartments across Manhattan, either wrote their own scripts or improved, and I strung it all together to be one cohesive film. This was my first time trying my hand in film and I had a blast. It was an extremely collaborative process and was a great highlight of the semester. We all had so much fun and at the end of the day, that's what truly matters.
